How to use the power of Amazon to your advantage

The way the retail industry has changed in the last few years, now going online more than ever before, it’s so important to take advantage of every opportunity to help your business grow.

My name is Wayne Smith and I’m originally from South Africa. I moved to Sweden with my wife and first child around 9 years ago, what I didn’t know at the time is that it was really hard to get a job if you didn’t speak Swedish. After some time I started working on Amazon and in a short period of time realised I really loved education and helping others.

I started a company traveling around the world educating people on how to become successful on Amazon. Created an online education and today have helped some of the biggest companies in Europe launch their brands on Amazon.

With my years of experience on the platform one thing is very clear that Amazon of course like any company wants to hold on to their clients and the client information so as not to lose out on the next sale. This of course makes it impossible to retarget these clients when you run campaigns or promote your brand or new products.

So how can you overcome this obstacle?

How my team and I have been working over the past few years is to try and get the client journey to start before they arrive on Amazon. The best way to do this is through Facebook or Google ads and then direct them to a landing page where we create an offer with a discount that they will receive if they sign up to our page.

This is the perfect way to build your funnel as well as still get the sale on Amazon where most people feel more comfortable buying products today because of reliability and speed of the delivery especially if you are starting to sell your products in a new market place and are unknown.

Having client data is key to building your brand, as sending your clients information on a regular basis keeps your brand top of mind as well as builds more trust in your clients eyes.

Further on down the line when you have built a large enough funnel you will be able to make decisions on where you want to direct the client. If you are happy going through Amazon then stay there, otherwise you could send them directly to your own page and do the sale from there

This has been a really effective strategy for us and I really hope it helps you as well

Happy Hunting for your next clients from your friendly Pink Shoes Guy, Wayne Smith
